Broiled Veal and Onions
Ingredients
4 veal rib or loin chops (about 3/4" thick)
2 large yellow onions (about 3" in diameter) cut into halves
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp mustard seed
4 tsp butter or magarine
2 tbsp packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Directions
1. Set oven control to broil.
2. Brush both sides of veal chops lightly with mustard and then sprinkle with mustard seeds, salt and 1/4 tsp of the pepper.
3. Place veal and onions, cut sides down, on rack in broiler pan. Broil with tops of veal about 3 inches from heat about 6 min. or until veal is brown. Then turn veal and onions.
4. Spread 1 tsp butter/margarine over each onion half and sprinkle with brown sugar and remaining 1/4 tsp pepper.
5. Broil about 6 min. longer or until veal is brown and onions are tender.
