Bananas Foster (Bananas Flambe)
Ingredients
4 tbsp butter
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
4 bananas, cut in half lengthwise
4 tbsp brandy
1/4 cup rum
Vanilla ice cream
Chocolate sauce (optional)
Directions
1. Melt butter in pan, add sugar, cinnamon and brandy, stir to mix until sugar is melted.
2. Add bananas and saute until just soft.
3. Remove from heat, add rum, return to heat. Ignite rum and flambe until the alcohol is burned off.
4. To serve add 2 scoops of ice cream per serving bowl. Place 2 banana halves in each bowl and spoon cooked sauce over bananas. Top with chocolate sauce if desired.
